ARIEL Vanilla and Pear

Tasting Notes

The aroma leads – creamy vanilla and soft, honeyed pear. The white tea underneath is pale and smooth, without the briskness of black or green tea, and flecks of safflower give the loose blend its warm colour. It steeps to a clear golden cup that's lightly sweet on its own, no milk or sugar needed.

About White Tea

White tea is the least processed of the true teas – picked young, then simply withered and dried. That light touch keeps this cup soft and rounded, letting the vanilla and pear come forward without being overpowered.

Brewing

Steep at 90 °C for about 3½ minutes – roughly 2.5 g (a heaping teaspoon) per cup, or one tea bag. Since white tea is light in caffeine, it sits comfortably in an afternoon or evening cup. Lovely hot, and just as good poured over ice.
