ABOUT THE PLANTATION
Cultivated on the plateaus of the Escambray mountain range in Guantanamo, where the mild climate and the frequency of rains form an ideal micro climate for growing coffee, coffee trees are grown under forest cover, in soil rich in mica, quartz and humus*, without any fertilizers. Once ripe, the cherries are carefully hand harvested by a small group of Cuban coffee farmers.
The strongly superior quality of these Cuban coffee beans very much reflects the rigorous control they undergo during processing.
*Humus: An upper layer of soil created by the decomposition of organic matter
