Toasted almond and chocolate is a combination confectioners have leaned on for generations, and Roasted Almonds brings it to the mug: Dutch-process cocoa and golden cane sugar, warmed by the nutty, gently roasted note of almond. We blend it in Montréal, and it comes without milk, so the cup is yours to build – whole milk for something rich and praline-like, oat or almond for something lighter. The chocolate stays at the centre, with the almond rounding it into something that tastes almost like a dessert.
Suggested Uses
It's a comforting after-dinner cup, and a natural alongside something baked – biscotti, a square of dark chocolate. For a mokaccino, stir a shot of espresso into the finished cup. Cosy evenings suit it best.
Preparation
Add 2 tbsp (15 g) of hot chocolate powder to 1 cup (250 ml) of hot milk and stir until smooth. For extra froth, fill your cup halfway with hot milk and stir to dissolve, then froth the remaining milk and combine.
