ABOUT THE ROAST
This blend is roasted to a Medium Dark color to provide a full body and low acidity. However, due to the increased porosity of the beans that have undergone decaffeination, the exterior becomes darker than the interior during roasting, creating the impression of a dark roast coffee, even though the interior remains lighter.
ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN WATER DECAF PROCESS
The Mountain Water Decaf process offers a chemical-free, eco-friendly way to remove caffeine from coffee beans while preserving their rich, full flavor. This process utilizes 100% recyclable, all-natural byproducts, making it an environmentally responsible choice.
In this unique method, green coffee beans are immersed in mineral-rich water sourced from Mexico's Pico de Orizaba glacier. The high mineral content helps extract both caffeine and flavor compounds. The coffee extract then passes through activated charcoal filters to remove the caffeine, and the flavor-infused water is reused for the next batch of beans. This sustainable, chemical-free approach ensures that the coffee retains its original, vibrant taste.
The Mountain Water Process guarantees a premium decaffeinated coffee that maintains its full flavor profile with minimal impact on taste.
A key distinction between the Mountain Water and Swiss Water Decaf processes lies in the source of the water and the companies responsible for developing these methods.
