The English Breakfast Story
English Breakfast became a fixture in British homes in the 1800s as the hearty tea to start the day, poured alongside a full cooked breakfast. That tradition travelled the world, and the style is now shorthand for a dependable, everyday black tea – which is exactly the spirit of this cup.
Brewing
Steep at 95 °C for about 3 minutes – roughly 2.5 g (a heaping teaspoon) per cup, or one tea bag. Give it a little longer for a stronger brew, and add milk if you like. As a black tea, it carries a good amount of caffeine, so it's at its best in the morning.
