There's a particular comfort in a cup of hot chocolate made the slow way. Heavenly Chocolate is a dark, cocoa-forward blend of Dutch-process cocoa and golden cane sugar, crafted in Montréal for the kind of afternoon that asks for something warm and a little indulgent. It comes without milk, so the cup is yours to build – whole milk for richness, oat or almond for something lighter. Either way the cocoa stays the centre of attention: deep, smooth, and unhurried.
Suggested Uses
Keep it simple on a cold morning, or pour it after dinner alongside something buttery – shortbread, a slice of orange cake. For a mokaccino, stir a shot of espresso into the finished cup. It's an easy one to share, which is half the pleasure of it.
Preparation
Add 2 tbsp (15 g) of hot chocolate powder to 1 cup (250 ml) of hot milk and stir until smooth. For extra froth, fill your cup halfway with hot milk and stir to dissolve, then froth the remaining milk and combine.
