Japanese Sencha Green Tea Chicken Soup Recipe

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 5 cups (1.25 L) water
  • 2 ARIEL Tea 100% Sencha Japanese green tea bags (5g)
  • 1 stalk of sliced lemongrass
  • 1 cup (250 ml) frozen edamame beans
  • 1 large carrot, sliced diagonally
  • ½ tsp (2 ml) sea salt
  • ¼ tsp (1 ml) black pepper
  • 500 g boneless, sliced chicken breast
  • 1 cup (250 ml) cooked brown rice
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) sesame oil

Steps:

  1. Prepare broth: Boil water, remove from heat, and steep tea and lemongrass for 10 minutes.
  2. Cook vegetables and edamame: Remove tea and lemongrass, bring to a boil, add edamame, carrot, salt, and pepper, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add chicken and rice: Incorporate chicken, rice, and sesame oil, and simmer for 2 minutes before serving.
