This exceptional coffee is grown at Finca Miraflores, nestled in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon in the Amazonas region of Peru. Founded in 2002 as a dedicated specialty coffee farm, Finca Miraflores cultivates several distinctive varietals, including Geisha, Typica, Java, Bourbon, and SL-28, each offering its own unique expression of terroir.

Situated at an altitude of 1,945 meters above sea level, the farm benefits from ideal growing conditions that promote slow cherry maturation and exceptional cup quality. The featured lot comes from heirloom Typica genetics, specifically the Java selection, a variety with roots tracing back to Yemen through Indonesia. Known for its pronounced body and complex fruit character, Java offers a distinctive profile that stands apart from more traditional Peruvian Typicas.

Processing method

Carefully processed using the honey method, the coffee is dried with a portion of the fruit mucilage still attached to the bean. This process creates a beautifully balanced cup that combines the brightness of washed coffees with the sweetness and depth often associated with natural coffees.
