ARIEL Ceremonial Matcha Combo

This matcha set brings the Japanese tea ceremony home, and adds a sweet treat to go with it. Inside are two tins of ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha – the vivid green powder whisked into a frothy, full-flavoured cup – plus a tin of matcha candies made with pure Japanese matcha. The Matcha

The two 65 g tins hold ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha, the top grade, meant to be whisked with water and drunk on its own. The shade-grown leaves are carefully selected, then chopped and stone-milled into an ultra-fine powder. Whisked up, it makes a smooth, vivid green cup with matcha's signature richness: vegetal, savoury and lightly sweet, with a creamy body and none of the harshness of lower grades. It also makes a beautiful matcha latte.

The Candies

The 100 g tin holds individually wrapped matcha candies – hard candies made with 100% pure Japanese matcha. Each is a long-lasting hit of real matcha flavour, sweet and grassy, ready to enjoy straight from the tin. They keep the flavour going between cups and make an easy share.

Preparing the Matcha

Sift 1 to 2 teaspoons of matcha into a bowl, add a little fresh water cooled to around 80 °C, and whisk briskly with a bamboo whisk until frothy. Top up with more hot water or steamed milk to taste. Follow the tin for exact measures – a little matcha goes a long way.
