Vanilla and hazelnut is a pairing that needs no introduction – warm, nutty, a little sweet, the kind of flavour that makes a cup feel like a treat. Here it meets Dutch-process cocoa and golden cane sugar, blended in Montréal into something smooth and comforting. It comes without milk, so the cup is yours to build – whole milk for richness, oat or almond for something lighter. The result is round and mellow, with the vanilla softening the cocoa and the hazelnut lingering at the finish.
Suggested Uses
This is a quiet-evening kind of hot chocolate, lovely on its own or beside something simple – a shortbread cookie, a slice of pound cake. For a mokaccino, stir a shot of espresso into the finished cup. It's an easy one to settle in with.
Preparation
Add 2 tbsp (15 g) of hot chocolate powder to 1 cup (250 ml) of hot milk and stir until smooth. For extra froth, fill your cup halfway with hot milk and stir to dissolve, then froth the remaining milk and combine.
